Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time School Social Worker position is available for the upcoming full semester, serving K-12 students from start date ASAP through June 5, 2026. This contract role requires on-site presence and offers the opportunity to support diverse student needs within a school environment in Lansing, MI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive social work services to K-12 students to promote their academic success and emotional well-being
- Collaborate with educators, families, and community resources to address barriers to learning
- Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and facilitate counseling sessions as needed
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and support plans for students
- Engage in crisis intervention and advocate for students social and mental health needs within the school setting
Qualifications:
- Fully licensed LMSW through LARA
- Full Approval or Professional Certification as a School Social Worker via MDE (Michigan Department of Education)
- No to limited license candidates will not be considered
- Proven experience working with K-12 student populations in educational settings
- Must work onsite in Lansing, MI during school hours
